Portuguese Knitting and Backwards Knitting...
Curious?
Diana will be teaching the techniques on Saturday May 6, 12:30 -2:30pm
Advantages of portuguese knitting are reported as helping to maintain a nice even tension in stockinette stitch, as well as offering relief for those whose hand and wrists are sensitive due to arthritis, carpel tunnel or repetitive motion stress. Great for miles of stockinette stitch!
And with backwards knitting, you can avoid purling forever and make projects like entrelac a snap!
Want to give it a try? Come with yarn to practice swatching in both techniques and then pick a project that you can master your new favorite knitting skill on!
(We suggest you start a new project to explore these new techniques- the difference on your tension could disrupt a Work In Progress- check out a few of our favorites with vast amounts of stockinette stitch- a couple from the Churchmouse collection: The Easy Folded Poncho, The Library Vest or The Simple Straight Skirt. )
Cost: $20
