We’re often inspired by our knitters and crocheters… and we’re always inspired by the giving-ness of our community…
So we couldn’t be more thrilled to get behind the cause of our friend, knitter and podcaster extraordinaire Amanda Hinksi aka @oldsaltcraftco.
In memory of her father, and as an advocate for Alzheimer’s awareness, Amanda is hosting a virtual sunrise to sunset Make–a-thon, when she will knit a sweater from start to finish! Click thru here to learn more about her virtual Make-a-thon.
To support Amanda (and all those who have been impacted by Alzheimers or dementia) we will be knitting/crocheting all day too- sunrise to sunset!
Yes! We will be casting on at sunrise- 5:20am- and hosting relay knitting/crocheting til sunset -8:35pm. We will be making scarves- all are encouraged to add a few inches! Come for a few minutes, a couple of hours, come once , visit two or three times, help us add those inches!
PBYS will donate $5 to Amanda's fundraiser for every foot of fabric created- in both a knitted and crocheted version! And of course, we’ll be serving tea all day (perhaps even some coffee for the sunrise crew ;), #Knitcahoots Chewy Granola Retreat Bars, and other healthy treats as we cheer you on crafting in solidarity with Amanda.
Come any time (5:20- 8:35!), sit for a spell and help us support Amanda on this longest day*!
* technically, the longest day in 2018 is Thursday, June 21. For scheduling convenience, we will be participating on Friday the 22, the differential is three seconds. ;)
